Did you know that a cell phone with a properly operating battery is capable of contacting the State Police through a "9-1-1" emergency call even if no other phone service is enabled?
The Macomb County Department of Senior Citizen Services is seeking donations of inactive cellular phones in good working order to be used in connection with the 9-1-1 Phone Redistribution Program.
Donated cell phones are made available to seniors of Macomb County who wish to have a 9-1-1 Emergency phone for safety reasons.
For more information about this program, call the (586) 469-6313.
If you would like to donate a cell phone that is in good working order, you may drop it off at our center at the VerKuilen Building. For directions, click here. If St. Clair Shores is closer to you, you may drop the phones off at the Adult Day Care Center South, 25401 Harper, St. Clair Shores (North of Ten Mile on Harper).
