Welcome to the Macomb County Department of Senior Citizen Services Homepage. We are located in southeastern Michigan. Our quality and cost efficient services are designed to improve the lives, increase independence, and inhance dignity of County senior citizens, age 60 and older. In 2007, over 59,000 phone calls were received through Senior Citizen Services.

The Senior Citizen Services brochure is now offered in four languages!  English, Spanish, Russian and Arabic.

Anyone wanting to change Medicare D plans can do so between November 15th and December 31, 2009.

  • For free personalized counseling on the Medicare and Medicaid Assistance Program call:
    800-803-7174
  • Michigan has a program for people with limited income and resources, call the Medicare and Medicaid Assistance Program at 800-803-7174 to see if you can get help paying Medicare premiums, deductibles and coinsurance.  TTY 248-357-2255.
  • For questions about the Medigap policies available in your area, call the Michigan State Insurance Commissioner's Office at 517-373-9273.  TTY call 800-649-3777.

The department is sponsored by Macomb County Board of Commissioners and receives County funds for services as well as funds from the Area Agency on Aging 1-B, the Office of Services to the Aging, State grants and the Older Americans Act.
