  • It's a New Year and time to resolve to have a happy retirement.
  • Shredding Day and Outdated Medication Disposal has grown and moved to Freedom Hill County Park. On October 18, 2012, 310 cars with 369 passengers passed through the lines in an hour and thanks to the Macomb County Sheriff Department Traffic Division, it went smoothly.

Absolute Shreds, the shredding provider who provides this service to Macomb County Department of Senior Citizen Services for free, estimated that there were 6,000 pounds of shredding.  This equates to saving 51 trees, 7.8 barrels of fuel oil, 21,000 gallons of water, 12,300 Kilowatt hours of electricity and 10.5 Cubic Yards of Landfill Space.

Macomb County Environmental Health staff reported that 104 cars brought 147 pounds of unwanted medications.  The Sheriff Department took away 7 pounds of controlled substances.

Thank you to the 9 volunteers for lifting boxes and served the senior citizens in our community.

Thank you Absolute Shreds, Sheriff Department, and Environmental Health for your continued support!
