The Macomb County Health Department operates the county's animal shelter. Services include pet adoptions, lost and found for pets, animal cruelty investigations, dog licensing, animal bite reports, and rescue services for wildlife and domestic animals.

Shelter Hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday:

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM


Staff available by phone 8:00 AM, Monday through Saturday.
ADOPTIONS end 30 minutes prior to closing time.

Trapped wildlife will only be accepted if involved in a human bite, is injured or if exhibiting signs of illness..
