How do I find quality, registered and/or licensed childcare?

Macomb and St. Clair County residents can call their 4C (Community Coordinated Child Care) Office to speak with a resource and referral counselor and request a current listing of registered family day care providers, licensed group day care providers or licensed child care centers in their area. The listing will be mailed to the requestor, along with a few informational pamphlets, such as "4 Steps to Choosing Quality Child Care - A Parent's Checklist". Call (586) 469-6993 Macomb County or (800) 621-8661 St. Clair County.

How do I become a registered and/or licensed childcare provider?

Macomb and St. Clair County residents can call the Bureau of Family Services in Lansing to request an application packet to become a child care provider.  The packet contains information describing the steps involved in becoming a registered family daycare provider, a licensed group daycare provider or a licensed child care center.  Call 866-685-0006 to request an application packet.

As a childcare provider, how can I find training for childcare?

Macomb and St. Clair County residents can call their 4C (Community Coordinated Child Care) Office to inquire about the Basic, Mini-Series, Advanced, Administrative, and/or Special Needs trainings offered throughout the year by 4C. Providers who are participants of the 4C computerized database routinely receive training registration information and/or quarterly newsletters that include a calendar of events with future training information. Call (586) 469-6993 Macomb County or (800) 621-8661 St. Clair County.

For more information, go to the 4C Homepage.
