The MCCSA Commercial Driver License (CDL) training program is a four-week condensed vocational training opportunity. This program trains students to obtain a commercial truck and/or bus driver Commercial Driver License (CDL). With a CDL, students have the opportunity to explore a wide range of transportation employment options. The program content includes a program orientation, on-the-road instruction, hands-on pre-trip inspection practice and testing. Once the course is complete, students will obtain a CDL-B with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brake endorsements. The course fee is $1,600. Persons eligible for this program through Michigan Works! may qualify to attend at little or no cost.
Anyone meeting the entry requirements (see below) is eligible to attend this program. You may be eligible for low cost or free training if you meet the criteria for any of the following programs: Family Independence Program (FIP), Food Assistance Program (FAP), low-income Child Care Assistance, Medicaid, Welfare to Work Program, or Workforce Investment Act.
