Andrey Duzyj was re-elected in November 2006 to represent the residents of District 1 in southwest Warren. The 2007-08 term is his second on the County Board.

Duzyj (doo-zhay’) has been very active in the community for many years. He has been involved with a wide variety of Ukrainian organizations and has a strong background in planning and economic development. One of Duzyj’s goals is to work to make neighborhoods safer and to reduce crime.

Duzyj is a member of the Warren Tax Increment Financing Authority (TIFA) Board and was a member of the Warren Planning Commission from 1991 to 2000. He is a former member of the Michigan Society of Planning Officials.

He is currently the president of the Ukrainian Future Credit Union board of directors. He was also a delegate to the United States and Ukrainian Strategic Relations Roundtable held in Washington, D.C., and the Ukrainian World Congress convention held in Chicago.

Duzyj is president and founder of Trig Tool Inc., a manufacturer of automotive, aerospace and machine tool parts based in Madison Heights. Before founding the business, Duzyj worked for Cylectron Corp.

At Cylectron, Duzyj was the quality control manager, inspecting precision parts that would go into aircraft engines only upon his approval. To do this, he was required to be a Designated Supplier Quality Representative (DSQR) certified through General Electric’s Aircraft Engine Group. In 1985, Duzyj received the Excellence of Product award from the U.S. Navy, one of Cylectron’s major clients.

Duzyj, 50, has an associate’s degree from Macomb Community College and is a graduate of Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic High School.

Duzyj was born in Detroit and has been a Warren resident for 35 years. He and his wife, Doris, have three children, two girls and a boy.
