When are new positions posted?
New positions may be posted any day of the week. Postings are generally posted for ten (10) working days. We recommend you review the open postings once every week.
How do I submit an application?
Submit an application for employment, proof of your highest level of education completed, such as a Diploma, GED, or Degree, in addition to any professional license and/or certification earned by mail to Macomb County Human Resources Department, 10 N. Main, 4th Floor, Mt. Clemens, MI 48043 or drop them off during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You may submit a resume to enhance your application if desired.

Once your application is considered active by the Human Resources Department, you may apply for a posting by calling our 24-hour job hotline, submitting a letter of interest by fax at (586) 469-6974 or e-mail at human.resources@macombcountymi.gov, or in person at the Human Resources Department.

You may submit an application for employment, academic credentials, and license or certification at any time. If you are applying for a specific posting, you must apply during the posting period. In addition, if you are applying for a clerical position, you must have a current passing score on any required test before you are eligible to apply.

When is testing available?
Testing is done weekly on designated days and times. Arrive early, testing starts promptly at the designated times.
What does the clerical test consist of?
The clerical test is computer based and covers proofreading, math and filing skills, Word 97 and Windows 2000 software skills, and typing.
May I apply for more than one posting at a time?
Yes, once your application is active, you may apply for as many postings as you wish by submitting a letter or e-mail of interest for the desired posting or by calling our job hotline.
Do I need to submit a new application and resume for every posting I apply for?
No, once your application is active and you have requested consideration for a posting, the Human Resources Department will supply the hiring department with your employment information.
Will you notify me when the job has been filled?
No, only candidates who are interviewed will receive notice from the Human Resources Department when a position has been filled. You may check the status of all recently filled positions on our job hotline and website.
What is acceptable documentation of academic credentials?
An official or unofficial transcript (which includes the school name, student's name, degree earned and the date earned) or a copy of your GED, degree, diploma, and license or certification.
