Wednesday, April 23, 7 p.m. on the Ambassador Bridge: Controversial & Beautiful.
This will be a lecture at the Mount Clemens Library presented by Marguerite
Humes.
The Greater Clinton Township Historical Society is proud to announce their 2nd
Annual Plant and Flower Fundraiser, benefiting the continued refurbishing of the
buildings in the Historical Village. They have once again contracted with local
Macomb County growers to supply patrons with quality annuals, perennials, herbs,
and hanging flower baskets, to decorate a home or garden this summer. Show your

The Octagon House at 57500 Van Dyke in Washington Township, will be having an
“April Showers” on Sunday, April 19 and on Sunday, April 27, they will have an
Open House from 12 noon-4 p.m.
The Selfridge Military Air Museum and Air Park is open to the public from April
thru October on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), Memorial Day, and Independence
Day from 12:00 noon to 4:30 pm. The Museum and Air Park can be viewed at
other times by appointment for groups and/or individuals by contacting the Museum's
Executive Director at 586-307-6768. Admission is $4.00 per guest over the
age of 12 and $3.00 for children between 4 and 12 years of age if you arrive during
the general public hours noted above. For tours at other times (by-appointment
tours), admission is $4.00 per guest over the age of 12 and $3.00 for children between
4 and 12 years of age or $25.00, whichever is greater.

"O Could They But Speak…" Michigan Regiment's Battle Flags on May 2 (Fri.) 1 pm
Kerry Chartkoff, archive specialist and coordinator for the Michigan Capitol tour
and information service, and Bill Trevarthen, executive director of Michigan Government
TV (MGTV), present the history and importance of Michigan's Civil War
battle flags, based on a video produced by MGTV.

1 to 4 p.m. It is located on Bunert St., a half mile south of 12 Mile Rd. at the south
end of Warren Tower High School.

Log Cabin Days is a statewide event celebrating the first habitat for many of Michigan’s
settlers. This year the event will be on Saturday, June 29. Many of Macomb
County’s historical groups have log cabins in their Historical Villages. This includes
the Richmond Area Historical & Genealogical Society who will have the
Donley family log cabin (picture below, right) in Bailey Park at Beebe and Park St.
open from 10 am until evening. The Greater Clinton Twp. Historical Society will
have soap making in the Williams log cabin located in the Historical Village at Romeo
Plank and Canal. Chesterfield Township Historical Society will also have
their log cabin at 47275 Sugarbush open (picture, left) after the Bay Rama parade
from 1 until 4 pm.

of July. This event sponsored by the East Detroit Historical Society will return in

August
The Bath City Festival will be held in downtown Mt. Clemens on Fri. through Sunday,
August 22 through 24, three days this year. The festival heralds the days when
Mt. Clemens was the mineral bath capital of the world and includes a historical tent
where you can find exhibits and booths with most of the county’s historical groups.
Also in the festival will be historical tours, lots of local merchant booths, a midway
and rides, antique appraisals, and a stage with historical presentations in the historical
tent.

Sunday August 10 from 1 until 3 pm.

children, classic and antique cars, trolley rides, and more!
The Octagon House at 57500 Van Dyke in Washington Township will have on Sunday,
September 14 an Open House 12 noon-4 p.m. and on Saturday, September 20
will host Apple Time Tea. On Sunday, September 28 will be an Open House from 12
noon-4 p.m.
The Greater Washington Area Historical Society will hold the third Alumni Day
on September 7 from 1 to 4 pm.
The Crocker House at 15 Union St. in Mt. Clemens will host, on Sunday, September
7, 1 p.m. a 1920s Mae McKenna Garden Party , and on
Wed. September 17, at 7 p.m.: Box Office Open: Michigan's Small Town Movie Theaters.
Lecture at the Mount Clemens Library, presented by Michael V. Doyle and
Jack Miller.
The New Baltimore Historical Society will have their History Fair (last year pictured
below) on Saturday, September 20 in downtown New Baltimore. This year the
theme will be Prohibition and there will be a dedication of the St. Clair Hotel sign,
historical displays, local merchants’ sales, cemetery tours, and more. The Grand

October
The Crocker House at 15 Union St. in Mt. Clemens will host a Cemetery Walk and
Funeral Tea on Saturday, October 4, at 1 pm. On Wednesday, October 15, 7 p.m.
will be a program about Hillcrest Golf Course. This will be a lecture at the Mt.
Clemens Public Library (on Cass Ave.) presented by Ross Strevel.
The Octagon House at 57500 Van Dyke in Washington Township will have on
Sunday, October 12 an Open House 12 noon-4 p.m. and on Saturday, October 25,
will host a Witch’s Brew Tea. On Sunday, October 26 will be an Open House 12
noon-4 p.m.
November
The Crocker House at 15 Union St. in Mt. Clemens will host a Children’s Etiquette
Class and Cookie Tea on Sunday, November 2, at 1 p.m.
The Octagon House at 57500 Van Dyke in Washington Township will have on
Saturday, November 1 “Deck The Halls and Octagon House Holiday Decorating.”
This will also take place on Sunday, November 2, Saturday, November 8, and Sunday,
November 9. On Thursday, November 20 will be a Holiday Soirée for Members,
Volun- teers and Supporters.
