Homebuying Counseling People applying for certain mortgages or housing programs are required to receive home ownership counseling before the mortgage or down payment assistance is granted. Foreclosure Counseling People in foreclosure may schedule one-on-one counseling about thier options. Financial Management Counseling A one-on-one session can jump start a person's ability to manage their money. Reverse Mortgage Counseling People over 62 years old are required to attend a counseling session before getting a reverse mortgage. |

| MSUE housing counselors are certified by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The customary charge is $50 per session, but may be waived. Call 586-469-6430 to schedule an appointment. | |
