MSU Extension partners with community leaders and businesses to develop programs to increase community capacity to improve the lives of young people where they live. Extension staff train After School, Weekend and Summer youth program providers in the Skills for Life, Character Counts and Junior Master Gardener programs. |

Outdoor Education Skills Clinic This program is designed to provide aquatic edcuation, promote ethical angling, develop fishing skills and introduce youth to the sport of archery. This experience takes place at Pocket Park, an outdoor educational facility located within the Michigan State Fairgrounds. Fishing education includes fish biology, fish habitat, equipment, ethics and angling skills development. Archery education includes safety, equipment, technique, concentration and self-improvement. Operation: Military Kids Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) is providing a Guard and Reserve Institute Training for school counselors, school social workers and nurses, educators and administrators. This institute will provide information on how to best help our suddenly military families and their children. No horse experience needed-training provided. Help out in your community! Help disabled youth gain a sense of achievement and raise their self-esteem.
