      Jeffery Sprys was elected in November 2008 to a two-year term representing the residents of District 26 in southern Macomb Township. The 2009-10 term is his first on the Board of Commissioners and his first elective office.

      As a commissioner, Sprys plans to work hard to bring new business investment to the county and to assure that essential county services continue while maintaining a fiscally sound budget.

      A general practice attorney practicing in Mount Clemens since 2005, Sprys is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Macomb County Bar association and the District of Columbia Bar Association. He is a former elementary and middle school substitute teacher.

      Sprys earned a bachelor of arts degree in Political Science and History from Oakland University in 2001 and graduated magna cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2005.

      Sprys, 30, grew up in Richmond and is a lifelong Macomb County resident. He graduated from Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School in Marine City.

      He and his wife Aileen live in Macomb Township.
