      Lampar plans to focus his attention on economic development and job creation, services for senior citizens, and substance abuse issues. 

      Lampar currently is the administrator of a Drug Free Communities grant for the Macomb County Prevention Coalition. The Coalition’s mission is to unite education, law enforcement and community leaders to provide safe and drug-free environments for youth. Lampar received a Leadership Award from the Human Services Coordinating Body (HSCB) in 1997 for his work establishing 10 community anti-drug coalitions.

      From 1990 to 2005, Lampar served as the administrator in the Macomb County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, where he focused on grant writing, community outreach and coalition building. He spent the years between 1982 and 1987 working in the executive office of Gov. James Blanchard and was responsible for the establishment of a boards and commissions database. He also made recommendations for more than 500 gubernatorial appointments. 

      Lampar has a bachelor’s degree from Kalamazoo College and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Western Michigan University. He is a graduate of Sterling Heights Stevenson High School

      Lampar, 51, lives in Sterling Heights with his wife Deborah McMillan Lampar, an attorney, and their son.
