What is LinkMacomb?
LinkMacomb is symbolic of Macomb County's mission for improving and expanding broadband telecommunications infrastructure across the county. LinkMacomb was spawned in 2003 as a result of LinkMichigan Regional Telecommunications Planning Program grant. Its findings (summary / survey results) were adopted by the Macomb County Board of Commissioners in December of 2003.

Work continues on an ongoing basis to facilitate the recommendations and the following activities have been accomplished:

	Construction of a private fiber optic network by Michigan Lightwave Corporation as an alternative provider of dark fiber for lease
	Publication of a Telecommunications Model Ordinance Handbook
	Holding a Telecommunications Model Ordinance workshop for municipal planners
	Established website for Wireless access - macombwifi.net now available in downtown Mt. Clemens.
